We are very excited to be recruiting a brand new position for an Editor-in-Chief for a leading scientific publisher to take the lead on their Physics list. This is a rare opportunity and can be based in several locations, London, Oxford, Amsterdam, China, New York or Cambridge MA.
In this role, you will build, create and launch a new physics journal initially and then build on this to launch further journals. This unique opportunity will also look to hire and manage an editorial team, who will run the editorial process of all journal papers and peer review, as well as driving the editorial strategy
Responsibilities in the role include:
- Editorial Strategy
- Collaborating with internal departments and stakeholders
- Peer review management
- Commissioning content
- Article production
- Team management
The successful candidate will have a strong research background with a keen interest of working knowledge of physical sciences, a PHD in the subject area is required. It would be advantageous to have extensive or strong editorial experience, with an understanding of the editorial and peer review process, author management, journal production and team management skills, however, our client would also be VERY open to anyone in faculty or research looking to make the move into publishing.
There will also be the need to travel for conferences and visit research institutions.
