Editor- Children

A world leading trade publisher in central London is looking to appoint an Editor to work on their renowned children's list. This is a fantastic job and an exceptional opportunity for a creative editor with the relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have good market awareness, be visually sensitive and used to dealing with authors across Non-fiction, activity, reference and craft . You will have an eye for detail and passion for children's publishing, you will be able to work closely with, and be involved in all aspects of the work of a fast-moving department focused on editorial, overseeing the process from start to finish in time and on budget.

Requirement of the role

  • Managing projects from idea to print
  • Scheduling, costing, fact checking
  • Managing freelancers
  • Layouts and copy
  • Management of illustrator, influencers and authors
  • Being creative, spotting trends -commissioning /acquiring titles

This role will require some who is a confident with a great commercial awareness, who is organised, detailed-focused, willing to work with workflows and processes and is able to communicate both written and verbally. This role would be ideal for candidates who are looking for their next step in the editorial world.
