Editor - Medical Journals

A highly successful international publisher of medical journals is looking to appoint an Editor to join their growing team.  As a senior member of the company, and the driving force behind their editorial teams, the Editor will work across a wide range of journals.

This is a highly responsible role which involves the accuracy and content quality across a highly successful suite of journals and supplements. The Editor will also be responsible for the peer review process, ensuring articles are published on time and will monitor journal standards and quality control procedures.

Other areas of responsibility will include monitoring journal standards, proof-reading/quality control of all content and identifying areas for improvement.  You will work with the Assistant Editor to manage the editorial team.  As part of the company’s senior management committee you will be involved with new journal launches on a global level.

We are looking for an experienced scientific editor, who has the ability to grow editorial teams and products. The successful person will have substantial experience in medical/healthcare publishing, with strong leadership skills and a growth mind-set.  You will have a medical science related degree and a digital publishing background, having used Editorial Manager for workflow.  Experience in creating and implementing new content strategies is essential as is the ability to lead an editorial team. You will be a problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and someone who likes to bring new ideas to the table.
