Editor - Trade

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Editor to join the Trade division of a leading global publisher. This role of Editor is a temporary role , for a minimum of 3 months with potential scope to extend. It is based in our client's London office on a hybrid working pattern, however is remote at present.

This Editor role will be placed in the trade consumer team and will be working across a range of Non-fiction books, managing the editorial process from contract to delivery and cover design through to publication. Responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining relationships with authors
• Taking a series of titles to publication
• Briefing and managing freelancers, undertaking copy-editing or proofreading in-house as required
• Liaising with authors, designers and proof readers, collating comments and ensuring final files are ready for press on budget and on schedule
• Writing Advance Information sheets, briefing jackets and writing copy

The ideal Editor will have strong editorial experience within Non-fiction book publishing, excellent proof reading and copy-editing skills, high standards of accuracy and a keen eye for detail. The Temp Editor will be highly organised and also have good communication and interpersonal skills and have a self-motivated approach to briefing, meeting deadlines and managing several projects.
