Editorial Account Manager

We have a wonderful new role for an ambitious individual who is looking to develop their skills and experience within academic publishing. This is a unique role where you will work on both books and journals, developing your editorial and account management skills, with this successful London based publisher of Open Access journals and books.  Our client works with a wide range of societies and universities that share the organisation’s platform. There is the option to work remotely or on a hybrid basis with this role.

The Editorial Account Manager plays a critical role in being responsible for managing the company’s press publications as well as helping to manage partner presses. You will assist library and society presses in growing their publication platforms by supporting these external Press Managers. Journal and book project management will play a key role, with journal development and engagement, with each editorial team and you will deliver a high-quality service as each publication platform grows.

The Editorial Account Manager is the central point of contact throughout the press, journal and book workflow, from acquisition through to peer review, you will liaise with external Press Managers, Journal Editors, Authors and site users on a frequent basis.  Customer service and project management will play a large part of this role; therefore, great communication, organisation and time management skills are essential qualities.

This is a great opportunity to work on a varied list of products combining both books and journals, so there will be plenty of variety. The successful person will ideally have some experience of working in a book or journal environment, maybe in an editorial, online capacity and will have some knowledge of editorial processes, along with the ability to develop publishing products. Knowledge of Open Access publishing would be an advantage, but great organisation skills and a great eye for detail are essential.  We also welcome candidates who are graduates looking to make a career within academic publishing.

This role carries an attractive salary and the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in both journal and book publishing.
