Editorial Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a detail oriented and highly organised Editorial Assistant to join a leading global Higher Education publisher in a full-time, permanent role. This role offers hybrid working with Wednesdays and Thursdays to be spent in the company's Andover office.

This role will sit within the Higher Education Publishing team, where the Editorial Assistant will provide editorial and content support. As Editorial Assistant you will act as a key point of contact for authors and other departments and you will assist with checking, proofreading and editing for print and digital content, and will also work with external bodies, lecturers and learning technologists. Tasks will include: assisting with the external academic review processes for both print and digital content during the content creation and development stages; helping assimilate key information on target markets; content and project management work; general market research; assisting with permissions clearance/image research queries and processes as needed; assisting with the preparation of cover design briefs; and writing product description copy. You will attend regular internal meetings and might be required to occasionally travel within the UK and throughout Europe to meet with authors and attend conferences.

The ideal Editorial Assistant will have some experience of administrative or editorial work in a publishing environment, and an interest in Higher Education publishing. You will have high attention to detail, with excellent editing and writing skills and strong numeracy skills as well as top-notch communication, both written and verbal.
