Editorial Assistant (Academic Books)

Are you passionate about an editorial career in Social Sciences books? We are looking for an Editorial Assistant for the Books team of an incredible academic publisher, to provide admin and editorial support (including author care) to the team, and work on a range of fantastic subjects. This London-based role will cover some fantastic lists, including Criminology, Media, Sociology, and International Relations!

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to the Publisher and Commissioning Editors, to help with the development and delivery of new projects
  • Organising the reviewing process of book proposals, including researching and briefing reviewers, and managing the schedule
  • Communicating with authors to provide regular updates, chasing manuscripts, and preparing contracts for new projects
  • Conducting desk research to keep abreast of market trends and latest products
  • Maintaining accurate records on the internal database
  • Providing ad hoc administrative support with processing payments, tracking content, project management, contracts, expenses and other tasks

This is a very exciting role, and we are looking for a strong communicator with a proactive attitude and a strong interest in book publishing.
