Editorial Director

An opportunity has arisen with an innovative STEM education publisher to become their next Editorial Director to lead on the success of an exciting new digital project. This is a pivotal role in this EdTech company's senior team, and although currently they are all working remotely, this position would ideally be based in Glasgow, Scotland or around London, in the South East of England.

The main remit of the Editorial Director will be to oversee and manage the editorial team developing the content, ensuring the product's alignment to the international curriculum, with a focus on maintaining quality, standards and coherence across all grade levels and product components. The Editorial Director will be responsible for conceptualizing and planning material and work closely with Product Managers to ensure work is completed according to schedule and budget. They will review editorial work for coherence in content, pedagogy, and style, and stay abreast of market trends and competitive products as well as best instructional practices related to education.

The role will require strong leadership and strategic thinking skills along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with a large team to deliver this flagship project for the business. The Editorial Director will have solid editorial experience of content development for primary and secondary education materials in digital formats, with great insight into how video can be used as an effective and powerful educational learning tool.
