Editorial Director - ELT

We have a super opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated self-starter to join an international organisation who offer content and digital solutions to educational publishers on a global basis.  Based in their Reading, UK offices, the Editorial Director, ELT will lead the ELT and Schools Editorial Management team and will be responsible for the business goals of the ELT and Schools onshore services.

This is a strategic position and the Editorial Director will have responsibility for  carrying out  the editorial management of print and digital ELT products, be responsible for finances,  including budgets; operational and development of the ELT educational products for the UK office. The Editorial Director will also train and manage editorial colleagues to ensure ELT projects are completed to budget, and schedule.  You will establish strong relationships with customers in the ELT market and take part in the strategic business planning process on an annual basis. This role will also work in a matrix relationship with sales, marketing, delivery and product teams.

There is also the flexibility of home-working with this role (around 3 days a week from home) and two days in the office.

This is a highly strategic role and the successful person will be educated to degree level, have extensive demonstrable experience in educational publishing, preferably from an ELT/Schools publishing background.  You will have strong editorial experience, with experience of developing ELT and Schools content and you will have excellent problem solving skills and budgeting experience.  Solid people management experience is essential as is the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
