Editorial Director - Fiction

A highly successful publisher of fiction and non-fiction is excitingly looking for a creative and commercially attuned Editorial Director to join a vibrant and popular fiction imprint. You will have the opportunity to grow a list covering women's fiction to historical and develop the editorial strategy across digital. This role is full-time and offers hybrid working (2 days a week in the London office).

Your duties will include:

• Driving and overseeing the editorial schedule (checking it is on track, checking proofs and providing strong author care and liaison)
• Building a digitally-driven editorial strategy
• Acquiring titles for genre fiction list
• Managing the budget alongside the Publishing Director
• Line-managing 2 direct reports
• Maintaining strong awareness of the market, trends and competitors
• Developing sales within other markets such as the US

Our client is looking for someone who has been in an Editorial Management role, having commissioned for commercial/genre fiction. You will equally have a knowledge of and interest in the digital publishing world as well as print, enjoying the variety of authors and strategies. A love for genre fiction will be crucial to feed into a fantastic editorial vision for the list.
