Editorial List manager - Maternity Contract

Would you like to work on an interesting Higher Education Business list, with a highly successful and forward-thinking educational organisation? We are looking for a motivated and experienced editorial professional to work as an Editorial List Manager on a innovative Business and Economics HE list. This role will project manage a portfolio of frontlist and backlist print and digital products across these subject areas to appropriate publishing cycles.

Working closely with the Higher and Vocational Education Publisher you will identify target market opportunities and commission innovative, quality products that meet the market needs.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking market research by creating and testing specific product plans with users and non-users and then briefing authors and content writers
  • Understand key market needs of the list through market research
  • Keep abreast of key trends in Higher education in relation to the list through researching and reading education and market reports, policies and survey data
  • In conjunction  with the HE and Vocational Publisher, develop a strategy for the list, actively exploring new market segments, product opportunities and partnerships in line with the overall HE publishing strategy
  • Undertake appropriate market analysis to identify new opportunities and to assess new proposals within the list

This is a highly important role in the team and the successful person will have proven experience from an educational, academic or professional publishing background, within an editorial department. You will have an understanding of the process of list management, with strong attention to detail and the ability to present at internal and external events. You may be a Development Editor or Project Editor looking to broaden your experience and expand your editorial range.

This role will suit a team player suited to a team-oriented and collaborative environment with the ability to work calmly.
