Editorial Manager (Health and Policy) 4 month FTC

A health organisation based in London is looking for a Editorial Manager to lead the organisations publishing function. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality publication of a range of materials. This is a 4 month fixed term contract to start immediately.

Key duties:

  • Develop and produce a wide range of publications and related materials

  • Copy editing and proof readingall materials

  • Providing editorial feedback in an effective, constructive and diplomatic way

  • Manage an effective publishing schedule includingproject management of publications, working with key stakeholders and ensuring high quality publications are delivered on time and that the schedule

  • Manage an Editorial Officer and support their development.

  • Use InDesign to produce final publications, making proofing changes and outputting print and web-ready pdfs, and epub files

  • Manage the publications budget and commissioning work from a range of freelancers and suppliers, including printers, designers and editors

  • Liaise with various teams including Digitaland communications team

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience of managing the production of publications

  • Significant experience of copy-editing and proof-reading different types of print publications

  • Line management experience

  • Experience within a policy- or health-related audience

  • Experience of working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) (desirable).
