Editorial Programme Manager

We have exciting new openings for an Editorial Programme Manager to join a leading STM publisher in their office in Switzerland. These roles will lead a programme of multiple journals, drive strategy anmanage the teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced journal manager to join an innovative and growing open access publisher.

 

Key duties:

  • Manage the growth and development of programme journals, ensuring targets and objectives are met
  • Inspire, manage and guide Journal Development Managers towards top performance
  • Contribute to companywide strategic plans, procedures and initiatives  
  • Implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure programme quality
  • Drive growth through editor engagement, article collections and journal launches
  • Represent the interests of the program within the company and the interests of the company to external stakeholders and at relevant events

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive editorial experience in a publishing house, working on STM or Academic journals
  • Solid line management experience and ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of social networks and platforms
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and ability to be decisive and tactful
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a scientific subject in biomedical, life sciences or physical science
