Editors (Fiction & Illustrated) x 4

Are you passionate about pop culture? Do you have editorial experience working in genre publishing such as fantasy, crime, horror and sci-fi? Then this might be for you! We have a number of openings for fiction or illustrated Editors to join a well-known specialist book publisher based in central London. These are exciting opportunities for assistant editors to take the next step in their careers.

Key duties:

  • Organise and manage publishing schedule of licensed fiction or illustrated titles
  • Research and source licensed authors
  • Review submissions and line/copy edit and proofread titles
  • Liaise with licensors and literary agencies
  • Prepare files for production, collating proofs and producing flat-plans
  • Create cover briefs and write copy
  • Check title metadata and title information into database

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Established experience within genre trade fiction or illustrated publishing
  • Proven understanding of book production process
  • Experience of licensed publishing would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills
  • Strong computer skills, including InDesign, Word and Excel
  • Solid organisation and time-management with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Keen interest and knowledge of genre publishing and popular culture
