A highly regarded Professional and Learned Society has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Education Officer who will support their formal education programme and who will work closely with schools and the teaching community, as well as grow your network within the weather and climate education community. This position is offered with hybrid working, combining a mix of remote working, and working from the Society’s Reading offices, but there is an option to consider part-time working (minimum 22.5hrs per week).

Reporting to the Head of Education, responsibilities will include:

•            Teaching resource development across a broad range of school subjects and levels

•            Quality Control of resources and assessment of materials submitted to the Society

•            Managing and promoting the Society’s Instrument Loan programme

•            Managing and promoting the Society’s communications with schools and teachers

•            Supporting career activities, which could include producing career guidance, booklets, or running workshops

Able to think creatively and work efficiently in a team environment, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
