Marketing Manager (maternity cover)

Edinburgh University Press is a thriving academic publisher, producing over 300 new books and 56 new journals each year, with an emphasis on the Humanities and Social Sciences.

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join the team at our Edinburgh office on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will support the revenue growth planned for the business through strategy implementation and will promote the company's brand both internally and externally within the academic community. You will work closely with the marketing team and editorial colleagues across our book and journal publishing programmes.

The ability to work independently will be important as will be your skills in campaign management, email marketing, InDesign and Photoshop. You will have strong organisational and time management skills to manage a varied workload across subject lists.

Key Accountabilities

  • To contribute to meeting targets for sales and profit on your lists
  • Design and implement campaign strategy for your lists, enhancing discoverability, brand, profile and engagement
  • Increase profile of list and EUP by increasing reach across email contacts and social engagement
  • Successfully manage promotional opportunities as appropriate at list level or for individual titles
  • Communicate effectively with sales colleagues to maximise impact of each campaign 
  • Service excellence and continuous improvement

  • Salary: £30,869.00 - £36,748.00 per annum
  • Contract:   Full-time, fixed-term (maternity cover)
  • Anticipated duration:  June 2024 – September 2025
  • Location: Edinburgh office (with option for days from home)
  • Holiday: 40 days a year (including bank holidays)
  • Closing date:  5pm, Friday 19th April 2024
  • Preferred start date:  Beginning of June 2024
