Senior Marketing Executive/Manager, Faber & Faber Academy - One-year fixed term contract
Salary: £29,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience
Faber Academy is a thriving creative writing school, with an increasingly broad offering of resources for aspiring and improving writers; we taught nearly 2,000 students in the last financial year, over 50 in-person courses and 85 online courses. As well as this we provide mentorships, masterclasses and manuscript assessments. Excitingly, we have just launched a range of courses in Newcastle, our first ongoing base outside of London.
A new position working across Faber Academy and Faber Books, this digital-led role will deliver the marketing of Faber Academy and work on faber.co.uk with Faber’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) team. The role will primarily involve taking the lead on marketing Academy's courses and services, but there will also be significant engagement with Faber’s DTC operations.
Faber is one of the world’s leading independent publishers and this is an opportunity to work with our direct-to-consumer (DTC) team, which sits within the Marketing and Publicity department. The DTC team is responsible for developing our relationship with readers, and manages our thriving Faber Members programme, faber.co.uk and our Ecommerce offering.
This is a role for a creative marketer who is passionate about reading and writing, and interested in online communications and the latest trends in digital. Aptitude and interest in digital marketing is essential, but candidates do not need to demonstrate experience with every element of the role.
Working with the Head of Ecommerce, delivering digital marketing activity for faberacademy.com and faber.co.uk, including delivering our paid digital media and SEO programmes, and collating insights from this activity for internal reporting. The role will also involve working with the Director of Faber Academy to shape the marketing strategy for Academy as a whole.
Specific to Faber Academy, the post-holder will work with stakeholders to deliver the overall Faber Academy marketing and communications plan, including:
- Delivering Academy’s content marketing across newsletter, website and social media.
- Developing potential of Academy’s ECRM, working on optimisation, segmentation and reporting.
- Planning and implementing all advertising including digital and print activity
- Developing relationships with partners for cross-marketing.
- Overseeing consistent implementation of Academy’s brand identity.
- Undertaking other marketing and communications activity for Faber Academy as required including briefing freelance designers and creatives for production of print materials (leaflets, merchandise etc) and producing copy and sourcing images for new courses and products
As part of the Faber DTC team, the postholder will support the management of faber.co.uk, including product and stock management, coordinating with our shipping partners, managing customer service enquiries, and creating web banners and similar digital assets.
This role is a one-year fixed term contract. It is a full-time position based in our London office in Hatton Garden.
