Senior Production Controller

Senior Production Controller

Salary: £32,000 - £34,500 per annum, depending on experience

Faber is a leading independent literary publisher, committed to the world’s most dynamic and significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and drama. We publish a diverse range of contemporary authors such as Anna Burns, Kazuo Ishiguro, Clare Keegan and Sally Rooney and have an unrivalled archival backlist featuring T. S. Eliot, William Golding, Seamus Heaney and Sylvia Plath. Faber is also a supplier of sales and distribution services to independent publishers and has a market-leading creative writing school.

The Faber Production Team is looking to recruit a keen Senior Production Controller to support the smooth delivery of both the frontlist publication programme and the backlist stock requirements, and support the output of the third-party production services.

The role is proactive and wide-ranging, involving some responsibility for all aspects of production: frontlist management of mono and colour titles, colour and mono reprints, paperback offset corrections and supporting our POD and ASR programmes, liaising with external suppliers and very closely with other internal departments, preparing for key meetings, preparing precise costings for third-party printings, timely sign off on internal databases and invoices and general departmental admin using Biblio3, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications as well as some bespoke software and the chance to be involved in some of our high-end letterpress printing.

We are looking for a highly organised yet flexible individual with the ability to prioritise their workload, who is generous with their knowledge, literate and a team player with a passion for the practical and logistical aspects of publishing and who cares about the success of the company and the welfare of their colleagues.

This is a full time, permanent position on a hybrid working basis, reporting to the Senior Production Manager. We currently require a minimum of two days per week to be worked from our London office.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter to seniorproductioncontroller@faber.co.uk quoting reference BS.

The closing date is Friday 7th June.

Faber has a staff of just over 140, based across our offices in Hatton Garden (London) and Harlow. We want all our staff to have the best possible, most positive and enjoyable experience while working at Faber.

Our benefits include:

●  Access to Faber titles (including regular staff book clubs), discounted Independent Alliance titles

●  Minimum of 28 days’ holiday per year

●  Five days per year for volunteering work of your choice

●  Full subscription to the Headspace meditation app

●  Season-ticket loans

●  Cycle-to-work vouchers

●  Subsidised eye tests

●  Generous pension scheme

●  Life assurance and income protection insurance

●  Access to online GP and advisory services

●  Cash plan for healthcare costs

We welcome applications from any individual regardless of ethnic origin, gender, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation or age. All applications will be considered on merit.
