Editorial Director (Maternity Cover)
Faber is looking for a highly organised and experienced Editorial Director to join our editorial team to cover maternity leave, for 9 months to a year. The role will involve editing and publishing over a dozen titles, as well as overseeing the music and pop culture list and helping to assess potential acquisitions.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled editor with experience of working with non-fiction authors. They will have a passion for literature, music and pop culture, and will bring editorial excellence, dynamism and flair to the publication of their books. They will be experienced in writing copy, presenting their books and assessing cover designs, and will have knowledge of publishing processes and of Biblio. They will also be confident working with the sales, marketing, publicity, rights and audio teams to help develop energetic and impactful campaigns.
Applications from commissioning editors with several years’ experience to editorial director level are welcome. The chosen candidate will report directly to the Publisher.
The position is full time and the candidate will be expected to work at least two days a week from our offices in central London.
Salary is £40,000-£45,000 depending on skills and experience.
