Production Controller
Faber is an independent literary publisher. We publish a diverse range of high-profile authors, including Kazuo Ishiguro, Sally Rooney, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Melissa Harrison, Kate Bush, Lenny Henry and Warren Ellis, and we have a backlist containing the works of T. S. Eliot, Seamus Heaney, Sylvia Plath, among many others.
The Faber Production Team is looking to recruit a Production Controller to support the smooth delivery of both the frontlist publication programme in all formats (print, ebook, audio), the backlist stock requirements and the output of the third-party production services.
The role is proactive and wide-ranging, involving some responsibility for all aspects of production: frontlist management of colour and mono titles, processing reprints, co-ordinating paperback and some e-book and audio production, liaising with external suppliers and very closely with other internal departments, preparing for key meetings, preparing precise costings for third-party printings, and general departmental admin using biblio3, adobe creative suite and Microsoft office applications as well as some bespoke software.
We are looking for a highly organised yet flexible individual with the ability to prioritise their workload, generous with their knowledge, literate and a team player with a passion for the practical and logistical aspects of publishing who cares about the success of the company and the welfare of their colleagues.
The position reports to the Senior Production Manager and is full time. The candidate will be expected to work at least two days a week from our offices in central London.
Salary is £26,000-£29,000 depending on skills and experience.
