Publicity Assistant

Faber is a leading independent literary publisher. We publish a diverse range of high-profile authors such as Kazuo Ishiguro, Anna Burns, Sally Rooney, Leïla Slimani, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Orhan Pamuk, Sebastian Barry, Laura Lippman, Lenny Henry, Luke Harding, Melissa Harrison and Amelia Gentleman, and we have a backlist containing the works of T. S. Eliot, Seamus Heaney, Sylvia Plath and William Golding, among many others.

We are looking to recruit a talented Publicity Assistant to work in the publicity team providing administrative support to a busy department.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team. You will be required to help oversee and ensure the smooth running of the department and offer administrative support to publicists working across Faber's prize-winning adult and children's lists.

Responsibilities will include general administrative duties such as travel bookings, handling phone and email enquiries and compiling campaign round-ups; supporting with the organisation of events and launches; supporting publicists with key campaigns: researching, pitching to media, arranging schedules and accompanying authors to interviews and events; arranging review mailings and drafting press releases; and helping to create and share content across social media channels.

You will need first-class communication, organisational and IT skills and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have some previous relevant office administration experience. You will have an aptitude for social media and an interest in how communications impact on the success of a book.

This is a full-time position.

Salary: £25,000 per annum
