Senior Rights Manager

The Faber Rights Team is looking to recruit a Senior Rights Manager to sell subrights in Faber titles. You will be passionate about literature and the global publishing industry, keen to explore a new challenge within this area of the business, and excited by the opportunity to work across a range of lists at Faber, working as dynamically on backlist titles as on frontlist.

You will be responsible for translation rights sales, serial rights and the day-to-day management of department functions and systems, including line management of one member of the team. You will also take an active role in identifying suitable new titles for world rights acquisitions and working on other projects to license rights across the Faber list. You will, act as a key point of contact within the Faber Rights team internally and externally and support the work of the department more generally.

We are looking for someone with a broad knowledge of international publishing markets, the ability to pitch books, negotiate the best possible terms and to guide our authors on publishing decisions, and experience of handling a wide range of subrights. Excellent organisation and negotiation skills are essential, along with a high level of problem-solving skills.

The position reports to the Rights Director and is full time. The role is based in our office in central London although we are currently working remotely.

Salary is £36,000-£41,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
