Field Sales Representative - North

We have an excellent opportunity for a Field Sales Representative to join a leading Trade publisher that produces highly illustrated books across various genres, including children's, adults', YA, fiction, and non-fiction. This role entails travelling across Northern England, selling books to bookshops and other trade accounts. Your responsibilities will include cultivating enduring relationships, driving sales, and managing existing accounts. This position is well-suited for candidates who enjoy being on the road and engaging in face-to-face interactions.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Achieving agreed-upon sales targets and margin objectives for specific customers
  • Implementing customer-focused sales plans to maximise book sales
  • Exploring new sales leads and local opportunities with booksellers
  • Attending professional trade fairs to establish new customer relationships
  • Working with the Head of High Street and Wholesale to acquire new customers and open new accounts
  • Serving as an ambassador and advocate for independent booksellers, ensuring effective communication of customer needs back to the business
  • Collaborating with the marketing and PR teams to develop customer plans and utilise internal resources for successful sell-in and sell-through
  • Coordinating with the supply chain team to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery of books

The ideal candidate will have sales experience in Trade publishing with excellent communication and presentation skills. Attention to detail and passion, along with the ability to comprehend the market, are essential for success in this role. Understanding the needs of your customers and tailoring your approach accordingly are crucial. Overnight stays will also be necessary for this role.
