Job overview

We are seeking an Account Manager with a publishing or literary background to join our London team working across accounts in the arts, culture, heritage and literary sectors.

The role will be based in the office 3 days a week, with flexibility to work 2 days a week from home.

The ideal person will have an excellent understanding of the media with strong contacts and a track record in establishing client relationships and delivering impactful campaign results.

This role requires a genuine passion for arts and culture and an understanding of the range of ways in which clients can communicate with their audiences, including creating and sharing digital content. You must be comfortable with speaking to the media but also have the ability to advise clients and manage a varied network of audiences, stakeholders and partners.

The role sits at the heart of campaigns across the cultural and creative industries, including literature, history, heritage, architecture and visual arts.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing strategic media campaigns for clients
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Creating and editing press releases, media lists and publicity plans
  • Working with stakeholders and partners in the culture, events and corporate sectors
  • Managing press trips, client events, private views, photocalls, press offices and launches
  • Building and managing relationships with a strong network of national and international media
  • Participating in new business development, including researching and writing new business proposals and pitch presentations
  • Contributing to Flint Culture's social media and brand development

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a communications role within the creative industries or relevant PR agency
  • Experience working with publishers, literary institutions, book fairs or literary festivals
  • Knowledge of the current publishing landscape and key events on the literary calendar
  • Experience working with and influencing national and international, consumer and specialist print and broadcast journalists to achieve positive media coverage
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and partners e.g. sponsors, exhibitors and project partners
  • Experience using media monitoring and media databases
  • Proven experience managing client relationships
  • Ability to develop and implement measurable and ambitious press campaigns, integrating digital and social media strategy
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills with strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment within a range of often conflicting deadlines
  • Flexible approach to working with the ability to attend evening and weekend events where necessary
  • Experience and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
