Foreign Rights Assistant

We are working with a highly successful London based independent publisher of Adult and Children’s books to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised Foreign Rights Assistant, to join their busy, friendly foreign sales team. This is a busy and highly varied role where no two days are the same and would suit someone who is passionate about starting a career in publishing and would love to use their foreign language skills.  This is a hybrid working role, with three days in the office and two working from home.

As Foreign Rights Assistant, you will work closely with the Head of Foreign Sales, to facilitate the sale of publishing rights for their diverse portfolio of books to international markets.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting sales contracts and preparing sales material
  • Co-edition management
  • Dealing with enquiries from foreign publishers
  • Providing administrative support for the foreign sales department, which may include maintaining the database of foreign rights information, contacts etc.
  • Coordinating contract processing and royalty tracking
  • Assisting with the organisation of book fairs and some occasional attendance

This is a great opportunity for a pro-active, confident and dynamic individual, keen to learn about publishing, particularly the foreign rights area of publishing.  The successful person may be a graduate, looking for their first role in the industry, with some proven admin experience, and sound IT skills, with the ability to multitask, to juggle multiple projects. You will have great communication and organisational skills, and ideally fluency in a foreign language (preferably French, Spanish or Italian), although this isn’t essential.

This is a role where training will be given, but also offers you the opportunity to work independently as part of a lovely team.

For further information, please send your CV and a short cover note, outlining your interest and salary expectations to: info@redwoodrecruitment.com

This role is available immediately and early applications may be prioritised.
