Foreign Rights Executive

A global children’s publisher is looking for an enthusiastic Foreign Rights Executive to join their team and work across sales channels in securing the best deals possible for their list. 

In this role you will be involved in the active selling of publishing rights to international markets, along with supporting on-going orders and maintaining strong customer relationships. You’ll work across a huge and exciting range of books, fiction and nonfiction, literary and commercial, spanning the entire catalogue. 

An ideal candidate would have existing experience working in a book publishing sales environment and would possess a high level of interpersonal skills when confidently handling customer negotiations, pitching, presenting, as well as collaborations with internal teams and senior colleagues. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Sales Management: Independently looking after your own accounts and managing rights and co-ed sales for titles to international publishers clients. This will include negotiation of deals, contracts and the logistics of local language editions. 
  • Market Strategy: Keep up-to-date with global market trends and developing strategies to enter new markets and grow company revenue. 
  • Cross-departmental collaboration: Working closely with multiple internal departments to ensure the end-to-end rights process aligns with overall business objectives. 

Successful candidates will have a strong commercial spirit, excellent negotiation skills, and some understanding of global book markets. Knowledge of another language is advantageous though not necessary.

This role may suit Sales / Foreign Rights Executives comfortable managing their own clients, who are now looking for a new challenge or Publishing / Sales / Foreign Rights Assistants who are highly motivated to take the next step up in their career. 

Salary: c. £30k DOE

Working pattern / Location: 3 days a week in central London office
