Foreign Rights Executive (Books)

Our client, a leading academic publishers, requires a Foreign Rights Executive (Books. The Books Foreign Rights Executive will be responsible for increasing the company's foreign rights revenue by negotiating and securing new translation rights deals; delivering and increasing revenues to agreed annual targets in this area of business.

You will be responsible for the sale and administrative aspects of foreign rights across our diverse range of books. As such excellent communication and negotiation skills along with enthusiasm for selling and a strong understanding of customer and author care are fundamental to this role.

Skills & Experience: 

  • Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercially aware, proven sales skills and comfortable working to targets
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who can establish strong relationships and has a highly organized approach
  • An entrepreneurial mindset of always looking for new business and expanding existing business
  • The ability to work within a busy team and forward thinking evolving company, reacting swiftly to the ever changing demands of an independent publisher 
  • Experience of rights sales within a book publishing environment would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English and one or more foreign languages
  • Methodical; eye for detail; systematic
  • Ability to interact and engage at different levels
  • Close liaison with customers, authors and internal departments
