The role

We are seeking an experienced publishing professional with extensive journals development knowledge, strong business acumen and robust analytical skills for a Publishing Strategy Lead –Impact position. Reporting to the Associate Director, Impact the Publishing Strategy Lead – Impact is responsible for
the development and implementation of the company’s impact strategy across multiple products and departments. Working closely with senior managers across the Publishing departments and other key internal stakeholders, this role will contribute to developing company-wide strategies to drive high-quality
growth and impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead defined Objectives and Key Results and projects focused on driving publisher impact,
  • Responsible for driving impact strategy and for delivering impact related project outcomes, as well as transforming successful initiatives into business-as-usual,
  • Monitor progress to impact targets/thresholds and provide strategic guidance to journal teams to ensure all journals are achieving their impact goals,
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Product and Technology teams to develop robust monitoring, analytics, and digital tools to execute impact strategies and support the company’s impact goals,
  • Liaise with Product, Technology, Data and Business Intelligence teams to recommend and coordinate improvements to products, digital tools and analytics aimed at boosting article and journal impact,
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing and SEO teams on strategies and initiatives aimed at boosting article and journal impact,
  • Represent the company in an official role to external stakeholders, when required.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in journals development and robust understanding of factors driving journal impact performance,
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to understand complex data and make decisions effectively,
  • Proven demonstration of strong business acumen and strategic thinking through the implementation of high-level initiatives,
  • The ability to work independently with sound and mature judgement to proactively drive the company’s impact strategy,
  • Ability to lead, influence and align multiple stakeholders across all levels on a focused objective,
  • Impactful communication skills to present strategies at all levels,
  • A thrive-change mentality with excellent motivational skills to deliver the company’s mission.
