Following the recent announcement of SPCK's acquisition of Lion Hudson, Inspired Search, have been retained by the SPCK Group to seeks a Group Publishing Director to lead a talented publishing team commissioning across its adult and children's imprints.

With a combined turnover in excess of £8 million, the combined organisation is now a globally significant Christian publisher as well as the undisputed market leader in the UK. This is an exciting position from which to develop a new publishing strategy which will attract the best authors and develop a profitable bottom line.

The Group Publishing Director will have the strategic publishing and market insight necessary to hit the ground running in developing a publishing strategy for the newly merged organisation. We are looking for someone who can lead a team of talented commissioning editors in delivering this strategy: both leading by example in personally making high-profile and profitable acquisitions to the list; and motivating and supporting the team in meeting challenging acquisitions targets in line with the new publishing strategy.

The successful candidate will be a publisher with proven success in delivering a profitable publishing strategy and in commissioning prominent and profitable titles, and excellent agent connections. Experience of working on Christian titles is not necessary, but a strong understanding of the Christian space and a passion for Christian books is required.
