PR Executive (12 month FTC)
What you’ll be doing
This is a 12 month fixed term contract for a junior campaigns and administrative role reporting to the PR Director, working across the HCG list, supporting on campaigns from picture books to YA.
The PR Executive will be working with individual publicists to support on implementation of and amplifying campaigns.
Responsibilities will include planning and implementing a wide range of PR functions across the HCG list: stock signings, blog tours, school and bookshop events, gaining regional media coverage for HCG authors and illustrators, co-ordinating regional festivals, booking travel and accommodation, and assisting on high profile media days and events. Some staffing of events will be required.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for someone who really loves children’s and YA books and wants to throw themselves into an exciting junior PR role on a 12 month fixed term contract. You’ll be full of creative energy, thrive on working with brilliant authors, illustrators, brands and amazing ideas. You will be joining a friendly, collaborative team of skilled publicists and marketers to help create award-winning and effective campaigns across a wider variety of titles, including some of the biggest and best authors of brands in children’s publishing. There are a few other things that are really important:
- You’ll have proven experience in publicity
- You’ll be able to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload
- You’ll be able to communicate and build positive working relationship with contacts at all levels
- You’ll have an understanding of and good relationships with media and influencers, including across traditional, online and social media
- You’ll have experience in events
- You’ll have a can-do attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- You’ll be highly efficient, with a meticulous eye for detail
- You’ll know your way around Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom etc.
- You’ll have an interest, and an awareness of, children’s books and brands
