Publishing Director (12 month FTC)

Are you an experienced fiction editor looking for a new publishing challenge? An exceptional opportunity has opened up to join Piatkus Fiction as Publishing Director.

What you’ll be doing

This role would be standing in for the Publisher, overseeing their responsibilities on the Piatkus list. The role would include but is not limited to: publishing a large and successful list of around twenty-five to thirty authors and re-contracting where necessary, acquiring new women’s fiction projects for Piatkus Fiction, managing two members of the PCR Team, working together with the Constable Fiction Publishing Director and PCR Brand Publisher to select and support priority titles across the Piatkus and Constable lists.

Who we are looking for

The role would suit an energetic, organised, and highly-motivated candidate with several years of publishing experience who is looking for a new challenge. You should have a proven track record of successful publishing, excellent knowledge of the UK and US commercial fiction markets and experience in author management and negotiation. We’re looking for someone truly passionate about all kinds of commercial fiction with a strong list of agent and rights agent contacts.

Piatkus Fiction publishes a huge range of commercial fiction projects, from Julia Quinn, author of Bridgerton, to the globally bestselling Nora Roberts, to fantasy authors Charlaine Harris, JR Ward and Christine Feehan to bestselling romcom writers Sally Thorne and Christina Lauren and crime authors such as Kate Ellis and Frances Brody. Constable Fiction publishes crime and thriller fiction, including worldwide bestseller MC Beaton and Sunday Times bestseller MW Craven.
