Senior Publicity Manager

What you’ll be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning and dynamic Communications team, who work across our wide range of imprints encompassing a range of publishing from some of the industry’s biggest brand fiction authors, exciting debuts, celebrity-led titles, music, humour, memoir, and headline grabbing non-fiction.

This role will have a specialist Literary focus and will mostly work across the W&N, Phoenix and White Rabbit lists. As Senior Publicity Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing PR campaigns, fully integrating all aspects of the media and events spaces to positively raise the profile and awareness of the author and the book.

You’ll be required to confidently present plans to colleagues in-house and externally to authors and agents, regularly updating key stakeholders on progress, as well as offering exceptional author care and maintaining excellent relationships with authors and agents. You will set an example for junior members of the team to follow, with the potential for managing a line-report. You will be involved in acquisitions feedback, pitch meetings and strategy discussions relating to Orion’s Literary publishing.

Who we are looking for

You will be an experienced publicist with a proven track record of creating industry-leading, consumer-focused and sales-driving publicity campaigns across literary fiction and non-fiction. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Publicity Manager looking for the next step.

Alongside demonstrable PR experience, the ideal candidate will be extremely efficient, have a broad range of contacts across the media and events, and bring initiative, confidence, creativity, and passion to the role. The ability to multi-task, work calmly under pressure and be a strong team player are also vital.
