Senior Publicity Manager

Little Brown Book Group is seeking a creative, innovative, and commercially focused Senior Manager to work across their non-fiction publishing and drive communications strategy for the lifestyle list.

This is a unique opportunity for a proven communications expert with strong market knowledge to work across the Piatkus, Constable and Robinson non-fiction imprints, leading the overall strategy for PCR’s lifestyle publishing and working closely with the senior editorial team on brand growth and author acquisition. Working with bestselling authors, celebrities, leading experts in their fields as well as emerging talent, you’ll be doing everything from creating high-impact, creative launch campaigns that will propel our books to the top of the charts, taking a strategic overview of our publishing across the lifestyle category, keeping a close eye on emerging trends, new media and brand development opportunities, and working closely with the editorial team to bring new authors to the list.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for someone with senior level publicity experience in non-fiction. A strong sense of commercial awareness, an eye for trends and ability for strategic thinking is essential. A confident self-starter, you will have a strong network of relevant media contacts, event organisers and influencers. You will have experience working with high-profile authors, and of working with internal and external teams to fully implement a campaign that drives sales. Demonstrable market knowledge is key, as is a passion for lifestyle, wellbeing and topics that interest people in their daily lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact campaigns with strong ROI to create bestsellers
  • Create effective, innovative pitches to acquire new authors
  • Work with the executive publisher and publishing director on growth strategy for the health and lifestyle category at L,BBG and author acquisition.
  • Maintain and build a strong network of champions for our books across the media, brand partners, podcasters and social media influencers that will maximise opportunities for high-impact coverage
  • Accountable for the publicity and marketing spend on allocated titles - ensure that budgets are used effectively
  • Work closely with editorial on staying ahead of trends and market positioning of books on the lists
  • Evaluate and report on campaign activity and results

Its newly launched narrative non-fiction list is the commercial heartland of Robinson, publishing books that illuminate extraordinary life stories, lead cultural conversations, open doors to big subjects and entertain along the way – from fresh perspectives in pop culture, science, nature and true crime, to powerful memoir and talking-point ideas.  Robinson’s market-leading Robinson Psychology list publishes the very best evidence-based titles in the fields of self-help and popular psychology including the international bestseller Mindset by Carol Dweck and The Whole Brain Child by Dan Siegal and Tina Payne Bryon. It’s How To and Cookery list offers practical, inspiring, bestselling guides to just about anything that anyone might want to do from training your dog to managing your money.
