Senior Publicist

Hardie Grant is looking for an ambitious individual taking the next step in their publicity career to work with a dynamic and collaborative team, across a range of awarding-winning titles and authors.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, organised and energetic professional, will have demonstrable publicity experience from a book publishing background and a track record of planning and implementing book campaigns. You will be used to delivering first-rate author care and have a passion for building author platforms, as well as bringing to the role knowledge of the media landscape and relevant contacts within the industry. This is a role that allows you to work as part of a fabulous and close-knit team as well as working independently and creatively.

Reporting to the Senior Publicity Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement innovative seasonal, subject-driven and individual campaigns throughout the year; driving visibility of our books within the media and towards the consumer.
  • Forge strong media relationships across the areas of print, broadcast and the digital space particularly with outlets where there’s a clear conversion into book sales
  • With your great powers of creativity, you will seek out new avenues and platforms to expand the company’s campaign reach, including digital options to promote authors
  • Ensure author care is of the highest quality and assist with the implementation of events, author tours and press days.

The role will cover all Hardie Grant imprints, including Quadrille, and will also work closely with the Publishing, Sales and Marketing teams, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and idea generation across the business.
