Marketing Manager, Farshore

This contract position will sit as part of the Farshore marketing team through an exceptionally busy period following company transition; the rebrand from Egmont to Farshore; 2 x major high-profile brand anniversaries with year-long campaign priorities; and the lead into the crucially important Autumn season. 

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the planning and delivery of 360 degree marketing plans, executing consumer and retail strategies for selected Farshore books, maximising consumer awareness and sales.  The role will lead on the development of key title and brand plans from Farshore’s list, seeking to deliver increased brand awareness across online and offline channels to support sales of company products. The role requires a multi-tasker with a strong understanding of the marketing landscape, who can deliver outstanding planning and organisational skills.  

The Marketing Manager will take on multiple campaigns, taking a lead role in some, and a supporting role on others, as directed.  They will be required to maintain Farshore’s best in class marketing on and offline reporting to the Publishing Strategy Director as line manager, and the Marketing Manager for allocation of tasks and responsibilities.  The role will take responsibility for campaigns across fiction, picture books, non fiction and brands titles as directed, working closely with other members of the Marketing and PR team, Marketing Design, Editorial and Sales.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver commercially focused and strategic marketing campaign plans. Manage and brief media activity both in-house and to external agencies.  Manage the development of digital and printed marketing materials; briefing, copywriting, printing, distribution ensuring delivery of assets on time.

  • Implement influencer marketing strategies where appropriate for key campaigns

  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships: Publishing, Sales (UK, Rights, Export/Open Markets) and PR including briefing functions on specific marketing plans and delivering regular campaign updates.

  • Plan campaigns, with contingencies, in order to ensure they are delivered to budget. 

  • Uphold Farshore’s D&I plan in support of the Company’s policy.

  • Managing Farshore and HarperCollins’ crisis communications process, ensuring adherence to timescales and personal responsibility regarding escalation/response requirements as set out in the document.
