Head of Academic Partnerships

Home-based with extensive UK travel, this Head of Academic Partnerships position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced business development professional, who has a background in selling digital solutions in a publishing or educational technology environment.  Joining a global distributor of digital textbooks and educational content, you will be part of a growing organisation with a collaborative culture and responsible for developing and maintaining existing UK business and identifying and acquiring new business at a strategic level.

Key duties:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategy to manage all business for the UK market
  • Identify and assess prospects and opportunities to build sales pipeline, optimising revenue and profit
  • Develop institutional targets that meet defined criteria and a territory sales plan to meet quarterly and annual sales objectives
  • Forecast quarterly close dates and close business to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Strategic-level key stakeholder relationship management to provide the leadership team with market, product and competitor landscape insights
  • Arrange sales calls and appointments to take full advantage of travel time with intent to gain commitment to next steps at each sales call
  • Log and maintain accurate sales data using the CRM
  • Attend events and conferences to promote product

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience working in academic or educational publishing or in educational technology
  • A knowledge and understanding of the higher education market
  • Experience selling a digital solution or SaaS
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Target driven, collaborative and the ability to adapt quickly
