Head of Books

If you have a wealth of licensing and brand strategy management experience from a publishing perspective and have worked with heritage and modern children’s properties this Head of Books role is an exceptional opportunity to join the team managing a number one children’s storytelling brand.  Based in beautiful offices in central London, you will work full-time with a welcoming team and in a creative and commercial atmosphere.

Key duties:

  • Responsible for driving growth (value and volume) for publishing
  • Maintain and develop the brand in publishing, working with key partners
  • Work closely with marketing and design to ensure publishing look and feel is in line with brand requirements
  • Oversee all publishing and co-create and manage annual schedule
  • Develop long term plans for major new opportunities, including TV tie-ins and publishing extensions
  • Manage key partnerships with UK and overseas publishers and global agents

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven experience of publishing brand management and licensing strategy
  • Experience and knowledge of children’s heritage brands
  • A commercial approach and strong budget management and business planning skills
  • First class communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • An entrepreneurial drive and a collaborate approach to problem solving
