Head of Children's Brand and Reprint Rights
If you have strong experience managing children’s brands in the international market and proven managerial experience in a publishing sales role, this Head of Rights position working in the area of children’s brands and reprints could be the perfect next step in your career. Based in central London, this is an important role in the rights department of leading trade books publisher.
Key duties:
- Work closely with the Rights Director, to lead the strategy for international rights and co-editions for brands and brand authors
- Manage heritage brands across all territories, advising and influencing at all stages of the brand lifecycle
- Create and implement plans for growing revenue across the brands and reprints business
- Play a key role in the rights strategy for the business and deputise for the Rights Director as required
- Set financial targets for each brand within each market and work with the Rights Director to set wider budgets
- Develop and nurture relationships with key customers and authors
- Curate Brand summits at book fairs, organise visits and presentations to key customers
- Manage and motivate the team to ensure targets and deadlines are met and quality is maintained
Experience / skills required:
- Experience in a rights sales role, managing brands and licensed properties internationally
- A proactive, creative and commercial approach to developing opportunities
- Market focussed and ability to spot new trends within the children’s market
- Proven team management experience
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- An entrepreneurial approach and willingness to take risks
