Head of Editorial

A leading London based publisher of scientific journals, is looking for their new Head of Editorial. This exciting new role will have full responsibility for a portfolio of peer-reviewed journals and will be responsible for developing the journal portfolio. The role will also be responsible for leading and managing a team of Editors.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Team strategy and management
• Oversee the journal portfolio
• Continually review and tweak as necessary the company's editorial processes
• Compliance with industry standards, update to internal policy documents and updates to guidelines and processes
• Indexing journals
• Launching new titles
• Team management
• Working closely with subscriptions, marketing, digital and publishing solutions teams internally

The successful person will be educated to degree level or above in a life science subject, and will have demonstrable experience in scientific journals publishing. You will have strong people management skills along with meticulous attention to detail and and familiarity with ScholarOne. Experience in developing and launching new journals would be highly desirable.
