Head of Editorial

A market leading, London based publisher of scientific journals, is looking for their new Head of Editorial. This exciting new role will have full responsibility for a large portfolio of peer-reviewed journals and will be responsible for maintaining and developing this journal portfolio. The role will also be responsible for leading and managing a team of Editors, including mentoring and recruitment, and the Head of Editorial will ensure that all issue deadlines are met and a strong pipeline of content is maintained.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Team strategy and management
• Compliance with industry standards, update to internal policy documents and updates to guidelines and processes
• Indexing journals
• Team management
• Working closely with subscriptions, marketing, digital and publishing solutions teams internally

The successful person will be educated to degree level or above in a life science subject, and will have demonstrable experience in scientific journals publishing. You will have strong people management skills along with meticulous attention to detail and excellent knowledge and familiarity with ScholarOne. Experience in developing and launching new journals would be highly desirable.
