Head of Editorial Development

A rare opportunity has opened up at a prestigious scientific society with a mission-led publishing approach. They are looking for a Head of Editorial Development to join their small, friendly team in Bath that values innovation and quality. Reporting to the Director of Publishing, the main responsibility of the role is to develop the strategy for their portfolio of journals, books and innovate new products as well as to manage the in-house editorial team with two direct reports.

The ideal candidate doesn't need to come from a directly scientific background, but will require extensive experience in STM publishing including all-round responsibilities from editorial, peer review management, commissioning and production. It's important that applicants have a solid understanding of the changing Open Access landscape, and are able to work collaboratively with editorial boards of societies to implement innovative ideas.
