Head of HR

We are looking for an HR Manager for our publishing client in North London. They have previously used external HR support and are now looking to bring the function in house. The basics are already in place, but they now need someone to build on these.

This will be a hands-on role where you will need to manage every aspect of HR, so we are looking for someone with broad generalist experience, who is confident in a standalone office based role. The position will also have responsibility for health and safety, so experience in this area would be a plus. You will also have responsibility for some aspects of office management i.e. managing the relationship with the company's outsourced IT provider.

The organisation has a sizeable number of sales staff, so someone with experience of supporting sales client groups would be of particular interest.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience in HR Management within a small to medium sized business environment
• Broad generalist experience covering recruitment, reward, learning and development and employee relations
• Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
• Integrity, professionalism and discretion
• The ability to confidently articulate HR issues both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrable resilience when working under pressure, prioritising competing needs and deploying a flexible approach to changing priorities
• Highly effective networking, influencing, interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to establish good working relationships
