Head of Marketing, Higher Education (Maternity Contract)

We have an opportunity for an experienced strategic marketing leader to join our client, a leading global publisher, based in London, as Head of Marketing on a 12 month maternity contract. This role offers an excellent salary, benefits and hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the London office, and will be responsible for marketing higher education textbooks and digital products to university lecturers and students.

Reporting into the Marketing Director, the Head of Marketing will manage a team of 3 direct reports, and be responsible for driving the strategic and tactical marketing direction for the higher education student learning list and ensure its alignment with that of the academic and professional marketing team. You will also have direct marketing responsibility for key textbooks across the Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Management, and Law portfolios.

The ideal Head of Marketing candidate will have proven strategic marketing experience across the full marketing mix including digital, gained within the publishing sector, higher education, academic or a related field. You will be commercially aware, creative and have strong analytical skills. Excellent communication skills are essential, and you will have great people skills, proven management experience, exceptional attention to detail and good copywriting skills.
