Head of Product Management
This Head of Product vacancy, with an academic publisher based in central London, is a newly created opportunity to use your strong product development and leadership experience to support the growth and innovative development of digital products for the academic and libraries market. This is a chance to join the newest team at an established global publisher and make an important contribution to the changing landscape of research and learning methodology.
Key duties:
- Take on a leadership role in a cross-functional team delivering innovative commercial products to support the evolving needs of students and researchers in a digital age
- Responsible for leading a Product Management team to support growth and change
- Encourage a culture of innovation and enable team members to engage with emerging technologies
- Work with the Editorial Directors and the Global Library Committee to shape the strategy for allocated product portfolio
- Ensure delivery is in line with strategic objectives and lead on a project to evolve long-term product strategy and delivery plans
- Responsible for the Discovery and Engagement group to ensure our products across the Learning and Research Pillars are optimally discoverable and accessible
- Drive procedural efficiency where possible, introducing new methodologies and practices as appropriate
Experience / skills required:
- Established digital Product Management and team leadership experience in publishing
- Proven management experience within an online development environment
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of the academic publishing market would be an advantage
- Proven ability to present and influence at a senior level
- Experience of managing strategy, roadmaps and budgets and a strong understanding of user-centred design
- Experience using Agile and Lean methodologies would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
