Head of Sales (B2B)

Inspired Search has been exclusively retained to manage the recruitment of the Head of Sales for Global Water Intelligence. The company is an independent, leading provider of business intelligence, through both publishing (magazines, reports, databases etc.) and events, within the water industry and is based in Oxford. 

Global Water Intelligence is an ambitious company with around 60 employees spread between Oxford, Austin (Texas) and Shanghai. It publishes market-leading magazines, databases, and reports on the international water industry. Additionally, it runs a series of successful events.  It has a unique corporate culture which can be summed up as follows:
·We are global: our market is totally international, and we need to reflect that. We travel a lot and around 40% of our staff don’t come from the UK.

Reporting into the MD, the role of Head of Sales (publishing) has three core pillars: 
1.Management of Sales Team: You will be responsible for the empowerment and development of staff and leadership of the team (around 10 people) as you set an example of consultative sales, including sales cycle processes. You will also lead the way for the sales team in terms of their liaison with, and feedback to, other teams such as Research and Marketing. 
2.Consultative Sales: With an increased focus on their online products, GWI will require their Head of Sales to demonstrate a strong track record in consultative sales, uncovering customer requirements and leading a customer-centric approach.
3.Strategy: You will also be devising, implementing and leading a sales strategy for the department and this will include account management, new business, new market opportunities, forecasting future sales strategy and market research. 

Proven success in working with Marketing in order to achieve shared goals will also be key to this role; the lead generation and campaign work that they do will provide an excellent sales source for you, while your market feedback will be integral to them. 

We are looking for a proactive, collaborative sales leader to drive the revenue growth from critical business intelligence by getting it to market effectively. With first-class communication skills, you will work closely with the Senior Management Team in order to develop and deliver a strategy that continues to grow the company and generates a high and visible impact for the company. This will suit someone who is highly driven and looking to develop their management experience in a small, vibrant team where they will be nurturing the team to a heightened level of performance
