Head of Special Sales

My client, a leading trade publisher of children's books based in central London is looking for a Special Sales expert to head up their Custom Publishing team.

Reporting into the Sales Director, you will be responsible for managing front list, backlist, overstocks & custom publishing into the UK special sales & non traditional market.

Key responsibilities of the role include: managing the daily running of the department, devising and implementing cohesive strategy, agreeing revenue and profit for all sales sectors as well as managing company overstocks. You will be required to assess suitability of all titles for the special sales market, selling the current and backlist programme into new and current accounts. Identifying and researching new business opportunities you will report in on market trends as well as managing the development of the Special Sales Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be a creative individual with strong experience in special sales and UK Sales. You will be numerate with a proven sales track record. You will be have strong presentation skills and enjoy building relationships both internally and externally. You will have excellent coaching and mentoring skills, able to get the best out of people.
