Head of Stock Management

A leading publisher of books and digital resources for the education market, based in Oxford, is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Stock Management to optimise the availability of product through responsible inventory management and the efficient movement of stock through the supply chain. As the expert for stock management in the department, you will advise on strategy and head up a team of supply planners to meet KPIs. You will:
• Manage global inventory and related costs
• Be aware of divisional sales forecasts and future publishing plans to ensure that stock levels and inventory policy are adhered to and stock depreciation is minimised
• Collaborate effectively with group supply chain teams
• Provide forecasts to inform resource planning for warehouse and freight providers
• Recruit, manage and mentor a team

With an excellent knowledge of SAP MRP forecasting principles, you will have strong leadership and line management experience and first class communication and influencing skills. You will have a high level of competence in Excel and should be able to create detailed process and workflow maps.
