Higher Education Sales Representative - Midlands & East Anglia

Are you a self-motivated and organised individual looking for a new opportunity in a field-based sales role?  A major, global academic publisher is looking for a customer-focused sales professional to manage existing business and generate new business with Higher Education institutions.  Managing your own territory, the Sales Representative will develop relationships and sell to lecturers and universities to expand our client’s growing textbook adoptions. This role will be based from home and will cover the Midlands and East of England area.

This key role will involve:

  • Relationship management of a portfolio of customers, providing a tailored sales service.
  • Plan, schedule and regularly visit key individuals within educational organisations to close sales opportunities.
  • Anaylse sales figures, run reports and maintain the adoption database.
  • Monitor sales of key adoptions to ensure relevant sell through
  • Work with the wider sales teams to ensure textbook adoption information is provided effectively.
  • Develop alternative routes to market, including direct sales for print and digital content.
  • Attending and contributing to UK and international sales meetings to build product knowledge and gather market relevant intelligence.

The successful person will be a highly skilled and self-motivated sales professional, happy to work in a field sales environment.  Ideally you will have experience from a similar or related background e.g. educational publishing or experience from a publishing sales background, but candidates from other industries will also be considered.  You should be customer focused, with a commercial outlook, with the ability to make recommendations to support sales targets.  You will ideally reside in the territory as this position is field based and will require travel throughout the territory post Covid. You will also be required to have a clean driving license.

This role carries a generous base salary and a generous bonus scheme, plus company car, as well as excellent company benefits.
