HR Manager

A great opportunity to join a well-known publishing group as an HR manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the Company receives an effective and proactive HR service in line with current legislation and anticipated business needs.

Key duties:

  • Manage HR team, currently comprising of one Group HR Officer, ensuring they carry out their roles effectively and that their development needs are identified and met
  • Co-manage Executive PA role alongside the Executive Director and Managing Director
  • Provide an HR ‘help desk’ for managers, advising on all employee relations issues (with support from Group HR Officer, where appropriate), e.g. performance management, managing absence and disciplinary issues etc.)
  • Ensure Managers receive the appropriate support with the appraisal process and offer guidance as necessary
  • Continually review and draft all HR policies and related documentation ensuring all policies are in line with current legislation
  • Manage the recruitment of any vacancies at Head of Department level or above
  • Design and deliver management coaching and other training sessions as required
  • Act as the HR Data Protection Officer, ensuring GDPR compliance  within the department & liaising/supporting with the IT Director to ensure GDPR compliance throughout the whole business
  • Manage Company benefits including administration of Childcare Vouchers
  • Manage salary review and bonus procedure both once a year

Experience / skills required:

  • Experience of overseeing complex employee relations issues to a positive outcome
  • Experience of managing restructures
  • Up to date employment legislation knowledge and H&S Safety
  • Flexibility and resilience
  • CIPD part or fully qualified or solid HR generalist experience
