Institutional Sales Manager

A prestigious academic publisher has an opening for an Institutional Sales Manager. Working from home and based anywhere in the UK, this role is responsible for maximising adoptions of books and sales of digital products into key universities in the UK. You will also assist with custom publishing projects and will be expected to spend approximately 3 or 4 days a week visiting customers during university term times. 

Key duties:

  • Hit sales and adoption targets at 5 key universities in the UK
  • Maintain relationships with academics and key decision makers through regular meetings and phone calls
  • Maintain records and a pipeline of opportunities using a CRM database
  • Keep key stakeholders and colleagues informed of progress, as well as market and competitor activity
  • Support field based and inside sales colleagues with digital product opportunities
  • Assist with custom publishing and bundle processes

Experience / skills required:

  • Sales experience in academic publishing and a good knowledge of the higher education market
  • A needs based and consultative sales approach
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload
  • Ability to travel 3 or 4 days a week during UK university term times
