Institutional Sales Manager (Australia)

We are excited to be working with a global Academic publishing company who is looking to appoint an Institutional Sales Manager to grow the Australian market. Based in the territory (preferably Melbourne) this role will be responsible for promoting a wonderful range of digital and print books to institutional clients, across both existing accounts and new prospects.

This publisher already has an established presence in the territory and is now looking to expand and grow the academic market, particularly at a time when universities are embracing more digital solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key HE institutions particularly across New South Wales and Victoria to support existing product adoption business, and develop new sales opportunities
  • Identify and close new digital subscription sales and develop custom digital solutions depending on customer needs
  • Managing 2 members of staff (Sales Executives)
  • Travelling across the territory to meet with clients when required
  • Conducting market research on target courses and institutions across the territory to identify and investigate changes in trends and adoption of digital solutions
  • Gathering market intelligence on allocated territory, market trends and competitor activity and reporting to the Sales, Editorial, Marketing teams
  • Updating the company CRM system to endure all sales activity is accurately recorded

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the academic publishing market, and strong presentation and negotiation skills. We are looking for a publishing sales / account management professional who will show enthusiasm for and commercial acumen within the higher education and digital learning sector.
